Art Direction and Set Design:
MY ROLE: The images shown below are part of Spoonflower's annual Me Made May campaign, which is when Spoonflower invites its employees to participate in creating garments and apparel using Spoonflower fabric. This years Me Made May featured 4 new apparel fabrics. In years past Spoonflower would shoot employees against a white background as the standard. This year I proposed doing a more stylized shoot with props to enhance the photos, and to highlight the apparel. I also hoped that in creating a more intentional set, the participants would be made to feel special, especially given the time and effort and creativity it takes to create apparel. My role was to style and prop each set, but one major hurdle was that we had a tight budget for this shoot, so we had to use items we had on hand, or items we could rent, which was an exciting constraint to find a solution for. I also stood alongside our photographer, giving feedback and direction. Lastly I created emails, and social media posts for the campaign. Overall, this was one of my favorite projects to work on despite there being an intense time constraint, and working with no budget.
